Quality at St. Cloud Technical College -
SCTC's Guide to Our Quality Affiliations

AQIP - Academic Quality Improvement Program

www.aqip.org

  • In 2001 we as a campus family chose to join AQIP for the benefits of continuous improvement versus a 10 year cycle of accreditation.
  • AQIP infuses the principles and benefits of continuous improvement into the culture of colleges and universities by providing an alternative process through which an alreadyaccredited institution can maintain its accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission.
  • With AQIP, an institution demonstrates it meets accreditation standards and expectations through sequences of events (Systems Portfolio, Action Projects, and Site Visit) that align with those ongoing activities that characterize organizations striving to improve their performance.
  • A report called the “Systems Portfolio” is maintained annually and officially submitted every four years.
  • Annually we work on 3-4 “Action Projects”. Our Current Action Projects are: 1) Assessment, 2) Strategic Planning, and 3) Communication.

MnQIP - Minnesota Quality Improvement Project

www.mnqip.project.mnscu.edu

  • MnQIP was organized to support collaboration among Minnesota State Colleges and Universities interested in the principles and practices which foster Continuous Quality Improvement.
  • The original membership came from those institutions who responded to a January 2001 survey that they were either committed to or planned a commitment to the Higher Learning Commission's alternative accreditation approach called the Academic Quality Improvement Process (AQIP).
  • The purpose is to collaborate by attending monthly meetings, sharing of quality practices and participating in other sponsored activities consistent with MnQIP's purposes.
